Azhar Aziz Ismail

Azhar is a Knowledge Manager and an Admitted Legal Practitioner (Attorney) of the High Court. He is currently developing and managing the Knowledge department for the African offices of Clyde & Co.

Azhar has extensive experience in dispute resolution including commercial litigation and insurance litigation (including matters concerning public liability, professional indemnity and aviation), risk, incident management, privacy & data protection, learning & development and intranet content management. Additionally, he has an interest in the fields of Legal Technology & Innovation, Cyber Law, Data Protection & Privacy, Risk & Compliance and Islamic Finance, Banking & Law (Shari’ah Law).

Azhar is an executive member of the Gauteng Attorneys Association (GAA) and Johannesburg Attorneys Association (JAA), heading the Legal Technology portfolio of the GAA and the Knowledge, Legal Technology & Innovation portfolio of the JAA. Azhar is also co-vice chairperson of the JAA. He is an alumni and now a faculty member of the Legal Technology & Innovation Institute (LT&I), which delivers the global Legal Technology & Innovation Certificate (LTIC) and he was instrumental in launching the inaugural LawTech Live Conference in South Africa.

Azhar is a Director of Constellation 150 (C150), a registered NPC, NPO and PBO in South Africa.
